Terror group Hamas, which controls the Gaza strip, announced Tuesday it has added studies to encourage “resistance to Israel” to the territory’s public schools curriculum, AFP reported.
Hamas Education Minister Muetassem al-Minaui told AFP that the new courses were intended to instill “faith in the role of the resistance to win rights and to raise awareness of the importance of effective preparations to face the enemy.”
The curriculum will include the declaration that “All of Palestine from the [Mediterranean] sea to the river [Jordan] belongs to us, to us Muslims.”
The New York Times reported Monday that Hamas introduced new textbooks into schools in the Gaza Strip that characterize the Torah and Talmud as “fabricated.”
Gaza schools previously used a curriculum approved by the Palestinian Authority. The new Hamas textbooks describe Zionism as a racist movement the goals of which include driving Arabs out of all of the area between the Nile River in Africa and the Euphrates River in Iraq, Syria, and Turkey.
