Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday night commended police and security forces for their quick action in capturing the terrorist cell that had placed a bomb on a bus in Bat Yam last week, and uncovering a Palestinian Authority policeman as a member of the cell.
“This is additional proof of the direct involvement of Palestinian Authority personnel in terrorism. The time has come for Abu Mazen (PA Chairman Abbas) to stop celebrating with released murderers, and to lead his people toward peace,” Netanyahu said in a statement released on Friday.
On Thursday, Israeli security forces apprehended 14 members of the Islamic Jihad terrorist group who they suspect were behind the thwarted bus bombing.
Two weeks ago, Netanyahu met with Michael Yoger, the driver of the #240 bus which runs from Bnei Brak to Bat Yam, and with passenger David Papo, who helped thwart the attack.
