JNS.org – Estonia and Latvia this week became the 29th and 30th countries to form a Christian-Israel Allies Caucus in their governments.
Organized with the help of the World Jewish Congress (WJC) and the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, the new caucuses will work closely with the Israeli Knesset’s Christian Allies Caucus (KCAC).
At a ceremony that launched the caucus in Tallinn, Estonia’s capital, a delegation from those groups met with high-ranking Estonian politicians and church leaders, WJC said.
“The World Jewish Congress is committed to strengthening ties between Israel and Christians around the world, and thanks Christians for their efforts to defend Israel against unfair attacks in their home countries,” Shai Hermesh, chairman of World Jewish Congress Israel, said in a statement.
“The establishment of Israel Allies Caucuses in Latvia and Estonia represents an important extension of these ties and a recognition of the world influence of Baltic Christians,” Hermesh added.
