During these difficult times, sometimes it’s the small things that can bring a smile to the faces of worn-out citizens in Israel’s South. Take for example, the thank-you video sent by supermodel Bar Refaeli to residents of the South and to IDF soldiers.
Impressed by the outreach and hospitality offered by Israelis living near Gaza to IDF forces in the area, Refaeli decided to do her bit by sending out a personal message of gratitude. The supermodel claimed that she would have preferred to come and thank them in person but since that wasn’t possible due to scheduling conflicts, she had to make do with filming the message instead.
On Tuesday the Director of the Regional Council opened his email to find the thank-you clip from Refaeli: “First of all, I hope that calm and quiet will be restored to the area in the very near future,” the video began. “And I also want to thank each and every one of you for everything that you are doing, including hosting our wonderful soldiers. And to all the soldiers themselves, take care of yourselves and return home safely. Be strong. We are thinking about you all the time.”
Walla reported that their “Celebs” section sent the clip to soldiers in the IDF but apparently the IDF censor chose to shelve it.
