The phenomenally successful and influential TEDMED video lecture series, a major media platform for the development and presentation of innovative ideas, is coming to Israel, Ynet News reported Tuesday.
In a first for the TED organization, the TEDMED conference will be live-streamed from Israel this September, alongside the World Conference in Washington, DC and San Francisco, organizers said.
Israel is the first country in the world to be granted a parallel event to the US-based webcast. Not only that, but starting next year, Israel is scheduled to be one of seven international centers to webcast TEDMED lectures worldwide.
The greatest challenge of the medical world today is finding solutions to problems faced by health systems in an era of increasing life expectancy, eroded health budgets, and decreased quality of life for patients.
One way to deal with this challenge, according to the organization, is to feature “outside the box” innovative thinking across an array of medical fields.
The TEDMED conference, which has become synonymous with novel entrepreneurship in the medical world, is largely devoted to lectures on innovation and creativity in the biotech, pharmaceutical and medical arenas. The conference is the main platform for the development and presentation of innovative ideas and annually attracts entrepreneurs, inventors, investors, and executives from international health organizations.
