At the Public Security Ministry in Lod, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu commented today on the terms of the nuclear deal currently being discussed by the US and Iran, saying “We know that Teheran knows the details of the talks. Now I tell you that Israel also knows the details of the proposed agreement. I think this is a bad agreement that is dangerous for the State of Israel, and not just for it. If anyone thinks otherwise what is there to hide here?”
His comments echo closely his remarks from earlier in the week made before the Conference of Presidents, a group of American Jewish leaders.
Tensions between the U.S. government and the Israeli government over the question of an Iran deal have been on the rise in recent days, since terms allegedly forming part of an agreement appeared in the Israeli press, with some in the US government laying blame on Netanyahu for propagating that information. Reports that the US had throttled back the sharing of information with the Israeli government surfaced, as well, and were acknowledged as accurate by White House and State Department officials.
