AP – Police shot and killed two gunmen who opened fire on a security officer outside a suburban Dallas venue hosting a provocative contest for Prophet Muhammad cartoons, and a bomb squad searched the gunmen’s vehicle as a precaution, authorities said.
The men drove up to the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland on Sunday night as the event was coming to an end and shot at the security officer, the City of Garland said in a statement. Garland police officers returned fire, killing the men.
