Israeli military experts say Iran’s new “Fatah 313” missile could strike any part of Israel’s sensitive, strategic national infrastructure, Israel’s Walla reported on Sunday.
The Israel Defense Forces assessment emerged after Iran revealed on Saturday the new short-range ballistic missile.
The “Fatah 313” is an upgraded version of a missile already in Tehran’s possession, the “Fatah 110.” With a 500-kilometer range, the new missile can reach 200 kilometers farther than its predecessor.
Iran has not released any information on the precision capability of the new projectile, but the IDF experts estimated its accuracy at tens of meters — and said it can carry a warhead weighing hundreds of kilograms or cluster bombs.
The head of the missile could be electro-optical or directed with radar.
With such accuracy and payload, said the IDF experts, the missile would be capable of striking any of the Israel Air Force bases across the country, the Chief of Staff’s base, national infrastructure and other sensitive installations across Israel.
IDF sources also warned that any weapon in Iran’s hands could potentially end up in the possession of Tehran’s Lebanese terrorist proxy, Hezbollah.
