Jewish Group Offers $5,000 Reward for Information Leading to Capture of Crown Heights Slasher

A major Jewish organization is offering thousands of dollars as a reward for information that leads to the capture of the assailant who stabbed a Jewish man in Brooklyn, New York on Tuesday.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) announced on Wednesday it would pay $5,000 to anyone providing information leading to the successful conviction of the man who stabbed an off-duty volunteer for the Brooklyn-based Jewish ambulance service Hatzalah in Crown Heights and fled the scene.
The victim was treated Kings County Hospital and released on Wednesday, according to news reports.
This attack preceded an incident on Wednesday morning, also in Crown Heights, in which a Jewish man was punched in the face on the way to morning prayers. According to local blogs, the attacker was a Crown Heights resident who, upon his arrest, told police, “I’m tired and fed up of the Jews.”
It has not been established that the two incidents were related, but the ADL expressed outrage over both in a statement accompanying the reward offer: “We are shocked and horrified by these unprovoked violent attacks against Jews,” said Evan R. Bernstein, ADL New York Regional Director. “Antisemitism simply has no place in New York City. We commend the NYPD [New York Police Department] and Brooklyn Borough President Adams for their quick response to these crimes. We are confident that the NYPD is devoting resources to their investigation and are increasing patrols in the area in the wake of these attacks.”
