“Israel says bombs target embassies in India, Georgia.”
That was the Reuters headline as of 10:20am ET on Monday for its story on the two bomb attacks targeting Israeli embassy workers in India and Georgia.
(They have since updated the headline to read, “Israel says Iran behind India, Georgia Attacks”)
While the rest of the story indicated that the attacks did in fact happen, the headline suggests that Reuters isn’t convinced yet.
According to multiple sources, including the Associated Press, India’s Foreign Ministry, the Israeli government, and video posted on Reuters’ own website, the bomb attacks are a statement of fact and not something “Israel says” happened.
On multiple occasions in recent years, Reuters has had to apologize for doctored photos it published which seemed to take a clear anti-Israel bias. The more recent of the two incidents, following the Gaza Flotilla in 2010, included weapons used by the “activists” attempting to break international law, being taken out of published photos.
