Two Weeks After Tel Aviv Shooting Attack, Patrons Flock to Terror-Struck Pub

Dozens of people came on Friday to the “Simta” pub on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv, two weeks after a shooting attack there claimed the lives of two Israelis, Shimon Ruimi and Alon Bakal, Israeli Walla news reported.
The pub organized an event and promoted it on Facebook under the title, in Hebrew, “Boosting the Simta Pub.” By Friday’s party, more than 5,500 had accepted the invitation.
“Exactly two weeks after, exactly the same place — we’re going to continue doing what terrorism tried to destroy,” the organizers wrote, according to Walla.
The event came a week after Simta reopened to the public. Just before, the owners had put together a memorial for the victims of the attack. At the time of the memorial, they said they were not ready yet to reopen their doors.
But following the traditional seven-day mourning period for the victims, as well as the death of the shooter himself by Israeli security forces, the pub opened again.
Two people were killed and eight injured when Nashat Milhem, an Arab Israeli from a village in Wadi Ara, opened fire in broad daylight on the pub’s outdoor seating section on bustling Dizengoff Street in central Tel Aviv.
