JNS.org – A pregnant Israeli Jewish woman was wounded in a stabbing attack in the Judean village of Tekoa near Jerusalem on Monday, one day after another Israeli woman was murdered in a stabbing attack in Otniel.
Monday’s victim, 30-year-old Michal Froman, was an employee of a clothing store. She was attacked by a 17-year-old Palestinian terrorist who drew a knife and stabbed her. The terrorist then fled, ignoring orders by security forces to stop. He was then shot and wounded by a civilian, and taken to the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.
Froman is 18 weeks pregnant. She was taken to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem in moderate and stable condition. Her unborn baby was unharmed.
“Unfortunately our enemy will write about these attacks as acts of Palestinian courage and resistance. Others will justify these acts as resistance. Or a response to despair. But these acts are part of an orchestrated strategy to destroy the Jewish people. They are not lone wolf attacks,” said Tekoa resident Sherri Mandell, co-founder of The Koby Mandell Foundation, which was named for her 13-year-old son who was killed in a Palestinian terror attack in Tekoa in 2001.
