The Israeli designer who created the gown Beyonce wore to the 2016 Grammy Awards on Monday night told The Algemeiner that the experience of seeing her dress on the singer put her at a loss for words.
“It was an amazing moment for me to see one of my favorite stars wearing one of my designs. I can’t even begin to explain the feeling!” said Inbal Dror, who designed the gown. “It is an exciting time for us and I am so looking forward to what the future brings.”
The white, buttoned-up gown with sheer panels chosen by Beyonce was a wedding dress from Inbal’s 2016 New York Collection. The Formation singer wore the dress on stage at the Grammys as she presented the award for Record of the Year.
A spokesperson for Dror told The Algemeiner that Beyonce’s team reached out to the designer and said the singer was interested in wearing a piece from the Dror’s collection, which was shown in New York in October. A few gowns were sent to Beyonce and she chose the one worn on stage at the Grammys. Although the spokesperson could not give a specific price for the grown, VH1 claims the design costs $12,980.
Beyonce is slated to perform twice in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park in early August as part of her new Formation tour.
