Iran to Deploy Warships in Atlantic Ocean, Naval Commander Says

The commander of the Iranian Navy said his was preparing to send a fleet of warships to the Atlantic Ocean, Tehran’s semi-official news agency Fars reported on Tuesday.
Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said that a naval deployment in the Atlantic was among the country’s military plans for the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 20. He said the deployment would highlight the navy’s defense capabilities and would be fulfilled along the guidelines set by Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Sayyari made his remarks on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of an exhibition in the southern Iranian city of Khorramshahr, highlighting developments in Iranian naval power.
