Co-Founder of The Jewish Press, Widely Read New York Newspaper, Dies at 105

JNS.org – Albert Klass, a co-founder of the widely read New York City-based newspaper The Jewish Press, died last Friday at his home Brooklyn, the Orthodox-Jewish news website Voz Is Neias reported. Klass was 105.
Klass co-founded The Jewish Press in 1960 with his brother Rabbi Sholom Klass, who died in 2000. Albert Klass remained involved in various roles with the newspaper until he was in his 90s.
“He had a strong connection to Torah and mitzvos and was very respectful of Torah scholars,” said his grandson, Moshe Klass. “He was a self-educated man who was well-read and business-savvy.”
Klass is survived by two sons, a sister, seven grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. He was buried on Sunday at the Mount Zion Cemetery in New York City’s Queens borough.
