Israeli actress Gal Gadot engages in fierce action sequences in the new Wonder Woman trailer, which Warner Bros. premiered during the San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday.

The nearly 3-minute trailer, the first to debut for the superhero film, shows scenes of Diana, princess of the Amazons, fighting alongside men in the battle against the world’s toughest enemies.

The first shot of the video shows Wonder Woman discovering a man, Steve Trevor (played by actor Chris Pine), washed ashore. The clip then takes viewers to the all-female island where Wonder Woman was born.

“She grew up in Themyscira where she was very safe and protected, and she thought she knew everything that there was to know about the world,” Gadot said during a panel discussion at Comic-Con. “When she left Themyscira to go the world of men, she realized there’s so much more to learn and so much she doesn’t understand.”

The video also portrays Wonder Woman as strikingly independent, telling Trevor, “What I do is not up to you.” Later, when Trevor’s secretary tells Wonder Woman, “I go where he tells me to go and I do what he tells me to do,” the superhero responds, “Where I’m from, that’s called slavery.”

After the trailer premiered, Gadot posted a clip on Instagram, where she wrote, “[I] can’t express how excited I am to see my journey come to life! Hope you all enjoy.” A day earlier, a new poster for Wonder Woman was released.

The superhero flick hits theaters June 2, 2017.
