A bath house in Sibera named after a Nazi Military Intelligence unit and advertised with the slogan “Auschwitz ain’t got nothin’ on us,” has caused a media stir in Russia, the Hebrew news site nrg reported on Tuesday.
Vyacheslav Boyev, the proprietor of Abwehr in Novosibirsk, bluntly responded to a local journalist’s question about using Nazi imagery to describe a sauna: “Do you know what they did at Auschwitz? They burned people. Well, my bath house is even hotter than [the ovens of] Auschwitz.”
According to the report, following circulation of the story on social media, the mainstream press picked up on it and the owner removed the imagery.
