JNS.org – About 100 graduates from the world’s top universities participated in Israel’s 10th annual Ivy League Yacht Race last week in the Mediterranean Sea, off the coast of Herzliya.
Hosted by University of Pennsylvania’s Israel-based Penn Club, the race is one of several annual events for Ivy Leaguers in Israel. Most participants are graduates of traditional Ivy League institutions, but others come from top-ranked schools outside the Ivy League like the University of Oxford and New York University.
The yacht race and other events hosted by Ivy League alumni in Israel provide recent graduates with opportunities to socialize and network.
“The people in the Ivy League, there’s probably about 5,000 of us, and we are at the forefront of the business community, the venture capital community and the tech community in Israel,” said David Hoch, president of the Penn Club in Israel, the Times of Israel reported. “This organization informally associates with each other and ultimately we do good things.”
