Mikhail Fridman, the Russian billionaire who just entered into a real estate deal with Jack Rosen, the Chairman of the American Jewish Congress, is being tied to the development of Iran’s only nuclear power plant.
Fridman’s Afra Bank, one of Russia’s largest private lenders was involved in financing the state owned company Atomstroyexport, which installed the reactors at the Bushehr plant, according to a report from the New York Post.
Upon being informed of his partner’s alleged ties to the development of Iran’s nuclear program, Rosen said “he [Fridman] wasn’t aware how their money was used” and that “He told me that Alfa never directly funded nuclear projects”.
The self-made Russian billionaire was named by Forbes Magazine as one of the world’s 60 richest men, and although it was left out of The Post’s article, he is Jewish as well.
