Israeli soldiers saved the life of a Palestinian baby, evacuating the 10-day-old infant for hospital treatment on Monday, Ynet reported.
The baby girl’s mother came to the soldiers from a village near Halamish in the West Bank, where they were stationed, and the soldiers immediately called their battalion’s physician.
“The baby suffered from severe respiratory distress and was vomiting,” said Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Michael Findlar. “We immediately began administering first aid and stabilized her condition.”
“This was the third such incident in two weeks,” Findlar added. “[Palestinians] know we have a regimental infirmary and a military ambulance. Last time, one of the paramedics on guard treated a young girl suffering from meningitis, and during the third incident, I treated a girl who had severe jaundice. In both incidents, the patients were transferred to an Israeli hospital for additional medical care.”
