Antisemitic Vandalism at Paris Business School Draws Condemnation

Antisemitic inscriptions — including swastikas, rifle sights and the word “Juden” – were discovered on Friday in a study room in a student residence at an international business school in Paris.
HEC Paris administrators said an investigation had been launched into the incident and those responsible would be held accountable, including potential expulsion from the institution.
School administrators and students also filed a police complaint.

“We want to reaffirm to the community, faculty, staff and students alike that we have no tolerance for racist, sexist, xenophobic or any behavior that attacks our fundamental embrace of diversity as a core value of HEC Paris,” the school said in a statement.
“Simply put, everyone in the campus must be treated with respect and be respectful of others,” the statement continued. “That is a fundamental right and obligation. Those who cannot hold to this most basic proposition have no place in our community or on our campus.”
Sacha Ghozlan, president of the French Jewish Students Union (UEJF), “strongly condemned” the vandalism, saying on Twitter, “It is unacceptable for swastikas to be drawn, especially in places of culture and education.”
