Jewish Teen of Toulouse School Attacked on French Train

A Jewish teen who attends the same school in France where 3 children and a rabbi were gunned down earlier this year by a man who claimed he was inspired by Al Qaeda, was verbally and physically attacked on a French train Wednesday.
“A teenager aged 17 wearing a distinctive religious symbol, who attends Ozar Hatorah school in Toulouse, was taken to task and insulted by two individuals,” the French Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The boy was then approached near a bathroom on the train “by the same two individuals, who beat him up,” the ministry said, adding that a conductor and passenger were able to stop the assault.
In March, the Ozar Hatorah school was attacked by a man named Mohammed Merah, who opened fire inside school grounds, killing 4 people.
Since the incident, the new French government has come out forcefully against anti-Semitism in the country.
“As Interior Minister, I will not accept so-called preachers who advocate Jew-hatred, whether with harsh words or sweet words. When a Jew is attacked in France, it is the Republic itself that is under attack,” Manuel Valls said back in May.
Wednesday’s attack occurred on a train heading from Toulouse, in southwest France, to Lyon, in the southeastern part of the country.
