Speaking in Israel on Monday, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reiterated the administration’s preference for a diplomatic resolution in Iran and its belief that “Iran’s leaders still have the opportunity to make the right decision” on their nuclear program.
“The choice is ultimately Iran’s,” Clinton said at the David Citadel Hotel in Jerusalem. “Our own choice is clear: We will use all elements of American power to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.”
Meanwhile, during the most recent nuclear talks with the West, Iran said uranium enrichment “is an inalienable and chartered right.” Iran is “not afraid” of the U.S. “because they do not take seriously the likelihood of an American attack,” former national security adviser Elliot Abrams recently told the Washington Free Beacon.
