Jewish Singer Pink Kicks Out Concertgoer Who Calls Circumcision ‘Cruel and Harmful’
by Shiryn Ghermezian
Grammy Award-winning singer Pink booted a member of the audience from her concert this week who was disrupting the show by holding up a message on his phone that read, “circumcision: cruel and harmful.”
During her performance at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, as part of her Summer Carnival tour, the singer, 44, was in middle of performing an acoustic number when she stopped to address the man who was standing in the audience near the stage.
“Oh wow, you’re making a whole point right now, aren’t you?” the Trustfall singer told the protester as he yelled back. “Do you feel good about yourself? Are you gonna be alright? You spent all this money to come here and do that? Come on, dude.”
As the crowd cheered her on, Pink continued to say, “I’m gonna have to buy a Birkin bag with that ticket money. Get that sh– out of here,” before asking security to escort the man out. Some audience members applauded the move while others booed at the man as he was escorted from the venue.
“He came here tonight to talk about circumcision,” Pink added, as the man tried to show his phone with the message about circumcision to other concertgoers. “Get out, why don’t you get that outta here? Get that cancer out, man.”
Pink was born Alecia Beth Moore in Pennsylvania. She is Jewish on her mother’s side and has spoken openly in the past about her Jewish heritage.
