Vivian Silver, a well-known Israeli peace advocate and member of the Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem is missing and has been reportedly taken hostage by Hamas terrorists, according to Canadian and Israeli media reports.

Silver, 74 and a grandmother, lives in the community of Be’eri in southern Israel, where terrorists carried out an hours-long massacre of Israeli civilians on Saturday.

“Vivian has devoted her life to women’s empowerment & helping Palestinian civilians, facilitating hospital treatments for sick Gazan children,” said Irwin Cotler, founder of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, a Canadian non-governmental organization. “She was violently taken from her home in Kibbutz Be’eri in Israel on a Jewish holiday & is now being held captive by Hamas in Gaza.”
