Election crunch time is here, and when push comes to shove it seems even some Jewish Democrats are increasingly concerned about a 2nd Obama term. Albeit taken from a very small sample size and likely holding a substantial margin of error, a recent remarkable poll showed Romney leading Obama by 44-40 among likely Jewish voters.
New York State Assemblyman Dov Hikind, an orthodox Jew who is a strong supporter of Israel recently appeared on Fox News saying that: “The bottom line is, let’s get this straight, for all Democrats across America – the president does not like the prime minister of the state of Israel – that is a fact that you cannot deny.” Hikind also said that he didn’t trust Obama to defend Israel’s security “The last time that the president said he had Israel’s back, I became very concerned.”
A great 18-minute viral video, entitled “Absolutely Uncertain” questioning the wisdom of those American Jews who plan to vote for Obama has attracted over 2 million views in the two weeks since it has been released. Owning a public relations agency, I know that this amount of views is very significant for a viral video. The video is narrated by a 23-year-old Jewish New Yorker, Irina Kot (a member of RAJE, the Russian-American Jewish Experience), who voted for Obama in 2008.
Kot is the voice of many American Jews of all ages who are – rightfully – questioning a President who called on Israel to return to the 1967 borders and has been no friend to the Jewish State during his 4 years in the White House. The video is very well done, and features interviews with journalists and politicians, including Harvard Professor Alan Dershowitz, former Mayor of New York City Ed Koch, Senator Joseph Lieberman, Rep. Eliot Engel as well as relevant news clips.
The video which can be viewed below is catchy, interesting and provides food for thought for all American Jews.
