Paul Socken (Ph.D., University of Toronto) was on the faculty of the University of Waterloo, Canada, for 37 years and is currently Distinguished Professor Emeritus. He is a former Chairman of the Department of French Studies and the author of 10 books. He is also the founder of the Jewish Studies program at Waterloo.
