Cheering crowds numbering in the tens of thousands lined the sidewalk of New York’s Fifth Avenue for the Annual Israel Day Parade celebrating Israel’s Independence Day.
Schools and marching bands from throughout the Tri- State area participated in the parade and Jewish community groups from Israel and the United States were well represented with floats and banners.
World Champion Boxer Yuri Foreman, NBA superstar Omri Casspi and Supermodel Adi Neumann were among the popular Israeli celebrities who served as Honorary Grand Marshalls and were greeted warmly be spectators as they rode in open top vehicles.
