The founder of the Tanzim terror group Marwan Barghouti, who is serving five life sentences in Israeli prison, has been moved to solitary confinement, after a cell phone was discoverd in his prison cell.
According to the Prison Service, guards in the Hadarim Prison discovered the cell phone during a routine search of Barghouti belongings. Barghouti who is also a commander of the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade has been sent to solitary confinement for two weeks.
It remains unclear as to how the cell phone was smuggled into the high security prison, or with whom the unrepentant terrorist was speaking. Israeli security officials are concerned that it may have been used for the planning of terror activity.
