After establishing contact with a new Gaza bound flotilla attempting to bypass Israeli maritime security measures, Israeli navy personnel safely boarded the illegal vessel and have redirected it to the port of Ashdod.
The IDF repeatedly called the flotilla crew who refused to comply with navy directives, as they attempted to bypass the maritime restrictions that have been established in accordance with international law.
An IDF spokesperson confirmed that the flotilla was boarded without incident as the navy took every precaution to ensure the safety of their soldiers as well as the safety of the provocateurs on board the flotilla.
“Upon arrival of the vessels at the Ashdod port, the activists will be transferred to the custody of the Israel Police and immigration authorities in the Ministry of Interior,” said an IDF communique.
This attempt is the latest in a string of similar initiatives by anti-Israel activists and terror groups to agitate Israel and frustrate the continued implementation of Israeli security regulations at sea.
