According to the London based Jewish Chronicle, Ron Paul met with Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss today while campaigning in New Hampshire.
Weiss is infamous for his belief that there should be no Jewish state. In 2006, he spoke in Tehran at the International Conference to Review the Global Vision of the Holocaust, which was arranged by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, attended by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and was widely regarded as a conference of Holocaust deniers.
Also in 2006, Weiss told Iranian media, “it is dangerous deviation to pretend that the Iranian president is anti-Jewish and anti-Semitic. He is extremely friendly and he understands the difference between the Zionists and the Jews who do not embrace the state of Israel… We don’t look at him as an enemy”.
The Jewish Chronicle says Congressman Ron Paul responded “good advice” after Rabbi Weiss told him Judaism “should never be transformed into a nationalism”.
At the time of publication Ron Paul’s campaign has yet to respond to The Algemeiner’s request for comment.
