With 46% of the vote in Florida’s Republican primary Tuesday night, Mitt Romney made it past another hurdle in his bid to become the Republican nominee for President. Newt Gingrich, who came in second with just under 32% of the vote on Tuesday, attacked Romney on numerous issues while in the Sunshine State in hopes of closing the gap between himself and the former governor.
One of those attacks was a phone call made to residents of Florida, informing them that while Romney was governor of Massachusetts, he vetoed a bill that would have forced many Holocaust survivors to eat non-kosher food, due to budget cutting. The state legislature went on to veto the vote but nonetheless, Gingrich saw this tactic to be a useful one in Florida.
