Sunday night’s Super Bowl halftime performance by Madonna received a considerable amount of attention following the game, including from Time Inc., where writer James Poniewozik said that he respected “Madge’s continued ability to strike a pose and put on a show” and he learned “a thing or two about Fake Roman-Egyptian History in the process.”
On Monday, the news coming from Madonna surrounds her upcoming world tour, in conjunction with her forthcoming album “MDNA”. The tour will begin at Ramat Gan Stadium in Israel which is home to the Israeli national soccer team and UEFA contenders Maccabi Tel Aviv and Maccabi Haifa.
The 53 year old icon is a student of Kabbalah – a form of Jewish mysticism – and has performed twice in Israel. In 2009, she closed her “Sticky and Sweet” tour, which grossed $408 million – the highest number ever for a solo artist.
