The Crosswords Puzzles That Deny Israel’s Right to Exist

The crossword puzzles featured in this piece are examples of Palestinian newspapers and other media that continue to publish information which denies Israel’s existence.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida is the official daily newspaper of the Palestinian Authority (PA), which strictly controls what is published in its newspapers. Journalists that do not conform to PA guidelines are imprisoned and independent media is shut down.
The following crossword puzzle published on February 20, 2011, lists Tel Aviv, Tiberias and Jaffa as Palestinian cities. All three cities lie within the pre-1967 borders of Israel. In fact the three cities are located in the land allocated to a Jewish state in the partition plan approved by the United Nations in 1947.
The following crossword puzzle, dated February 10, 2009, again lists Tel Aviv as a Palestinian city.
The following crossword puzzle dated August 4, 2009, describes Dalal Mughrabi as a Palestinian martyr. Dalal Mughrabi led the most deadly terror attack in Israel’s history during which 37 civilians, including 12 children, were killed in 1978.
Another crossword puzzle published on Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, dated August 1, 2010, describes Yahya Ayyash as a Palestinian martyr, also known as “the Engineer”.
Yahya Ayyash was the first Hamas suicide bomb builder, and seen as the founder of Palestinian suicide terror. He launched attacks that killed dozens and injured hundreds of Israelis.
