“Sometimes I lay under the moon and I thank God I’m breathin. ‘Then I pray don’t take me soon cause I am here for a reason. ”
That is the opening verse of Matisyahu’s hit song, “One Day” and last week it took on a whole new meaning. Through the help of Chai Lifeline, an organization that offers assistance and programming to families fighting cancer, Luke Weber, a young boy battling the sickness joined the music superstar on stage in Westchester, New York to perform the song together.
The performance, which is truly inspirational (you can watch below) drew a rousing ovation from the crowd as they chanted Luke’s name at the end.
“It is because of them [Chai Lifeline] that Luke is not a victim of cancer. He is the happiest, most cup-half-full kid we know,” Luke’s mother Eliza told Jewishmom.com.
