Adolf Hitler’s Lost Paintings Uncovered in Czech Republic

As a former artist, Hitler was an art lover and collector and countless paintings, many done by major European painters, were seized by the Nazis during the Second World War.
Seven works of art which once formed part of the collection of Adolf Hitler and were considered lost, have been found in a monastery in the Czech Republic, as announced a few days ago by the discoverer, Jiri Kuchar.
According to Kuchar, author of two books on Hitler’s collection, the paintings were found in the monastery of Doksany, located 50 kilometers north of Prague, and their value reaches at least 2.0 million euros.
“They are part of the collection of Hitler, which are about 45 works,” said Kuchar.
During the Second World War, the collection was deposited in the Czech monastery Vyssi Brod, along with two other major collections stolen from the German-born Jewish banker Fritz Mannheimer and the Rothschild family.
