The Emergency Committee for Israel, a pro-Israel activist group that seeks to “provide citizens with the facts they need to be sure that their public officials are supporting a strong US-Israel relationship,” has released a new video ad that portrays President Obama’s backpedaling after delivering strong pro-Israel AIPAC speeches.
The video juxtaposes the President’s 2008 speech to the AIPAC policy conference, where he said that “(Jerusalem) must remain undivided,” and subsequent retraction in an ABC News interview, with his address this week to AIPAC where he said “I have Israel’s back,” and qualified the statement in a press conference a day later.
The group, headed by Weekly Standard Editor Bill Kristol, has released a number of ads in recent weeks, including a 30 minute feature entitled ‘Daylight’ that thoroughly criticizes the President’s record on Israel.
