Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system was shown to be a valuable tool during the most recent uptick in rocket attacks from Gaza on southern Israel. According to the IDF, the short range mobile defense system shot down 56 of the 228 rockets fired into Israel from Gaza since Friday, March 9th.
The cost of each interception ranges from $35,000-$50,000 and the system is operated by IDF personnel in Israel’s southern region.
