Joining New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony, Vincent Piazza of Boardwalk Empire, and 47 other New Yorkers, Rabbi Dovi Scheiner and his wife Esty have been named one of 2012’s most stylish New Yorkers by Stylecaster.
The two native New Yorkers opened the Soho Synagogue in one of New York’s trendiest districts, back in 2005, hoping to capitalize on the young Jewish population in the area.
Esty Scheiner told Stylecaster, “when I dress I am marrying my personal style with modesty- that is always a fun challenge.”
The list, which features writers, art dealers, disc jockeys, hotel owners, and designers, was released by Stylecaster on Wednesday.
Rabbi Dovi Scheiner said one of his favorite fashion items is his yarmulka, the Jewish headpiece.
“I love my Yarmulka. At the palace of Versailles a woman approached Esty and me and applauded my courage for wearing my Yarmulka proud despite an anti-Semetic climate in France. I would never have it any other way,” he told Stylecaster.
