A Turkish shampoo company, Biomen, is advertising a men’s shampoo using archive footage of Hitler.
In the video, Hitler’s comments have been dubbed and the subtitles say: “if you’re not wearing women’s clothes then you shouldn’t be wearing woman’s shampoo. Here it is, a real man’s shampoo, Biomen.”
The advertisement has created public outrage with many referring to the commercial as “disgusting” and “sick” on blogs and YouTube.
In a statement, Abraham Foxman national director of antisemitism watchdog, the Anti Defamation League, said that the use of Hitler “who was responsible for the mass murder of six million Jews and millions of others in the Holocaust to sell shampoo is a disgusting and deplorable marketing ploy,”
“It is an insult to the memory of those who perished in the Holocaust, those who survived, and those who fought to defeat the Nazis.”
