65% of Israel’s Jewish population believes “the price Israel would have to pay for living with the threat of an Iranian bomb would be greater than the price it would pay for attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities,” according to the Haaretz Newspaper.
This follows another Haaretz poll from this month, citing that 58% of Israelis oppose a strike on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure without backing from the United States.
The most recent poll found that 64% of Israelis believed their military forces could “significantly” damage Iran’s nuclear program, with 29% of respondents disagreeing.
63% of the 505 Israeli Jews who participated in the poll, conducted by the Jerusalem Centre for Public Affairs, said the consequences for Israel following an attack on Iran would be the same, regardless of whether the attack was led by the U.S. or Israel.
