According to a study from Israel’s Institute of Technology, green tea can prevent bad breath, tooth decay and even mouth cancer.
The study, published in the journal Archives of Oral Biology, concluded that antioxidants in green tea, called polyphenols, destroy compounds in the mouth that cause the above problems.
Green tea is now reportedly a “superfood” because it already claims to “help prevent cancer and heart disease and lower cholesterol – and even ward off Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.”
Green tea has been consumed in eastern Asia for thousands of years but has only been recognized in the West recently for its health benefits.
