The new Jewish outreach liaison of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Dani Gilbert, is making news this week, but it’s not for what the DNC hired her for.
Gilbert’s posting of Facebook photos is the source of the controversy, in particular, a photo of her kissing money with a caption that reads “JEWBAGS”. In the photo, Gilbert’s friend Rachel Cohen wrote, “jew cash money team”.
The photos have now been removed from Facebook.
The New York Post quotes a “senior Republican aide” as saying this incident is not indicative of Gilbert’s professional conduct.
“A lot of folks on both sides of the aisle know Dani, and these photos do not reflect her professionalism,” the aide said.
Gilbert is a former congressional staff member of DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and is referred to by certain blogs as “Mini-Me” due to her striking resemblance of Schultz.
Ms Gilbert has also contributed multiple times to the Obama campaign.
