Boteach Campaign Raises Over 90k in First Quarter

Hot Indie News – The campaign of Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, who is running for Congress in New Jersey’s 9th Congressional District, this week announced its first quarter fundraising totals, as filed with the Federal Election Commission.
The campaign revealed that it had raised more than $90,470 as of its first quarter deadline on March 31st, 2012, from 106 individual donors. The campaign reported $74,190 of cash on hand. Donations ranged from several $18 contributions (18 being the number that signifies “chai” – life – in Judaism) to a maximum $5,000 contribution from ERIC, the PAC of Majority Leader Eric Cantor. Rabbi Shmuley’s campaign also gained the support of several high-profile donors, including nationally-syndicated radio host Dennis Prager, philanthropist and Birthright Israel co-founder Michael Steinhardt, Coffee Bean Chief Executive Sunny Sassoon, and Elisha Wiesel.
