The Labour party in Britain has dissent in its ranks over who should be the next mayor of London. Ken Livingstone is representing the party in this year’s election to become the city’s next mayor but his anti-Israel remarks and affiliation with an Iranian sponsored television channel, continue to cause issues for his candidacy.
“I don’t care if Ed Miliband is backing Livingstone. I seriously suggest NO ONE votes for Livingstone in the Mayoral elections,” Lord Alan Sugar recently wrote on Twitter.
Milliband, who is Labour’s party leader and reportedly met with members of London’s Jewish community recently to discuss Livingstone, has officially backed the Labour candidate for the mayor of Britain’s capital city. After Lord Sugar tweeted his opinion on Livingstone, British Parliament member Louise Mensch chimed in, claiming that Livingstone’s opinion of the Jewish community is good enough reason not to vote for him.
“Brave comment from @Lord_Sugar, hope he will spell out why nobody should vote for Ken. His attitude to Jewish community,” she wrote.
