Following the release of a photo that shows blood streaming from the back of George Zimmerman’s head – the Florida man charged for second degree murder in the killing of Trayvon Martin – Alan Dershowitz has spoken out about what he believes is a breach of ethics on the part of the prosecution handling the murder case, led by Angela Corey.

The photo released by ABC News was not mentioned in the prosecution’s affidavit upon the arrest of Zimmerman for murder, leading Dershowitz to claim that if authorities had knowledge of the photograph’s existence before the arrest, they acted in a “immoral” and “stupid” manner.

“An affidavit that willfully misstates undisputed evidence known to the prosecution is not only unethical but borders on perjury because an affiant swears to tell not only the truth, but the whole truth, and suppressing an important part of the whole truth is a lie,” he told Breitbart News.

Dershowitz, who is one of America’s leading defense attorneys and is a professor at Harvard Law School, said he has dealt with cases in Florida where evidence has been “wilfully omitted”, in the past.

“I’m not taking sides, but I’m insisting that both sides play by the rules, and so far the prosecution is not playing by the rules,” he said.
