This year, the Tribeca Film Festival in Manhattan is loaded with an eclectic selection of Jewish movies.

Arnon Goldfinger, director, producer, scriptwriter and winner of two Israeli academy awards, presents a new documentary about his journey in the discovery of his family’s history. In “The Flat”, Goldfinger explores the duty of cleaning up the apartment where his recently deceased grandparents used to live – both of whom were immigrants from Nazi Germany. During the process he is confronted with the difficult task of making sense of their possessions.

Director Sharon Bar-Tzvi will be premiering “Room 514”, a self-critical film about the passionate confrontation of a young investigator who feels obligated to accuse an elite soldier of using unnecessary violence against a Palestinian man.

Last but not least, the acclaimed Eytan Fox will be presenting the continuation of his controversial film about closeted gay Israeli soldiers “Yossi & Jagger”, which premiered in 2003. This time in  “Yossi”, Fox explores the encounter of a young man, who is now a doctor, with a mysterious woman, that liberates him from his routinely and shattered existence.
