The Jewish Board of Children and Family Services honored three women of New York at its annual Spring Benefit at the Plaza Hotel in New York on April 23rd. The United Jewish Appeal beneficiary organization honored two of its own dedicated members and the chairwoman of Community Board 1 – a group of local government bodies in Manhattan – Julie Menin.
JBCFS board members, Joyce Cowin, who has been part of JBCFS for more than five decades and a board member for forty years, and Fran Levy, a JBCFS trustee, were cited for their work on behalf of New Yorkers in need of the wide range of services – psychological, emotional, physical – that JBCFS provides.
JBCFS is one of the most significant providers of mental health services in New York and Westchester County. The alliance provides 175 varied services to all populations in need, without regard to race or religion. The honorees were cited for their “deep commitment to the many in need in our community.”
