Legendary actor Dustin Hoffman is being credited with saving the life of a 27 year old lawyer in London’s Hyde Park recently.
Hoffman, who owns a home in London, was jogging in the park when Sam Dempster began to foam at the mouth and collapsed after staggering back and forth. Hoffman dialed emergency personnel who arrived on the scene as Dempster’s heart stopped working, but after 15 minutes, the paramedics were able to resuscitate Dempster.
“I want to say ‘Thank you’ to Dustin Hoffman. He saved my life,” Dempster said.
According to one of the paramedics, the Jewish actor stayed with Dempster as efforts were made to save Dempster’s life.
“[He] walked up and said ‘Great job, guys.’ He really appreciated what had happened,” Martin Macarthur, who was part of the medical response team, said.
“Dustin was fascinated. He seemed impressed we’d got this guy back so quickly.”
