Israel may be using the same radar elusive helicopters used by U.S. forces during their entry into Pakistan in 2011 to find and eventually kill Osama Bin Laden, to gather intelligence on Iran’s nuclear program, according to F. Michael Maloof, a former senior analyst at the Pentagon.
According to the report by Maloof, Israel has set up bases in northern Iraq’s Kurdistan region, which shares a border with Iran, and is flying Iranian dissidents into the Islamic Republic, with special equipment, to monitor Iranian nuclear sites.
“With the help of recruited Iranian dissidents in Kurdistan, the Israelis are attempting to gather sufficient information to convince the United States and the United Nations that Iran is involved in using its nuclear development program to make nuclear weapon,” Maloof writes.
The modified Black Hawk helicopter, used by U.S. special forces to enter Pakistani airspace undetected in the 2011 Bin Laden operation, was believed to only be in the hands of one country – the United States. However, according to Maloof, that may not be the case.
“The helicopters may be similar to the specially modified stealth Black Hawks which were used in the May 2011 assassination of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden by U.S. Navy SEALS in Abbottabad, Pakista,” Maloof writes, referring to the helicopters Israel is reportedly using to shuttle Iranian dissidents living in Iraq, across the border.
